Lunar calendar for cutting hair for October 2026

Cutting hair according to the lunar calendar is an ancient practice based on how the phases of the moon affect hair growth and even life events. According to ancient beliefs, hair was cut on the waxing moon to grow quickly and on the waning moon to slow its growth. This approach was used to manage the condition of hair and its quality.

Previously, people attached great importance to the date of the haircut, believing that the wrong choice of day could greatly affect their lives. To the point that some dates were considered so unfavourable that barbers closed their workshops on those days. One of the most dangerous times to cut hair was considered to be the new moon, as it was believed that cutting hair on this day could shorten life expectancy.

On the other hand, the right date for haircutting can bring good luck, good health and even longevity. A successful haircut can literally ‘open the door’ for positive changes in a person's life.

When is the best time to plan a haircut?

The best time to plan a haircut is from the 1st to the 15th lunar day, when the Moon is growing, which helps to strengthen the hair and its rapid growth. During this period, the energy is especially favourable for changes related to appearance. However, from the 16th to the 26th day of the lunar calendar it is better to avoid haircuts, as the Moon is waning and this can slow down hair growth or weaken its structure.

Extremely negative days for haircuts are days of eclipses - both lunar and solar. In such moments energy is considered unstable, and any changes can lead to undesirable consequences. In addition, it is undesirable to get a haircut on church holidays, as it can disrupt harmony and affect health and well-being.
Interestingly, some astrologers claim that baldness in adult men may be due to the fact that their first haircuts as children were performed on inappropriate days, such as on a waning moon. This could have affected the structure of the hair and its ability to grow in the future.

Choosing the right date for a haircut can be an important part of hair care and wellbeing in general.
